I’ve Been Neglecting You and I’m Sorry. But Say Thanks to the Noodles.

Ok this is ridiculous, I’m sitting here, amidst my study break, with a freakishly hot bowl of Japanese noodles, and I can’t even enjoy the moment. To start off, the noodles were still crunchy after being in the microwave for two minutes and thirty seconds. Logically I put the bowl back in to cook for another minute. After I took them out of the microwave for the second time, I could tell that the noodles finally had the gooey form that I was desiring. I got about ten grasped in between both of my chopsticks, but could tell that they were a little too slimy than usual, I brought the grasp up near my mouth, steam hitting my upper lip, then BAM- the noodles turned into the death. They were extremely hot, way too hot for the likings of my taste buds. And now I’m sitting here writing this,  waiting for them to cool. Trust me, I feel very pathetic to consider my blog as an obligation right now.. that my blog has turned into a way to let my Japanese noodles cool. But I’ve got to face the facts of the past couple of weeks, I wouldn’t have had a legitimate post until who knows when if it weren’t for these steaming devil creatures.

To continue with the post, I’d like to talk about what I’ve been up to, since I’ve clearly neglected my tellings to the web lately. For one, I’ve been walking to Wallgreens during late hours of the night to grab some quick “brain food”, thus in the form of delicious, cheap and microwaveable Japanese noodles. Hence the need for brain food, I’ve been super busy with my studies lately. This week is the point of the “mid-term”, where all my classes are hitting the middle point of their curriculum, and having their second (of three) tests of the semester. This week, for me, consists of: a History test Monday, Chemistry test Tuesday, Calculus test Wednesday, and Sociology test Thursday. After my Sociology test on Thursday night, I get to head HOME!

I knew I shouldn’t have procrastinated on blogging for so long, there is just so much to tell.

As you (hopefully) know, I had my bone scan two weeks ago. (If you don’t know that, then you’re a new reader of my blog, and that kind of creeps me out, not really). Anyways, the results of my bone scan, which I got almost a week after the scan, showed that there is still activity around the fracture site. Meaning, the bone is still healing itself from the fracture. This is very, very fishy, because a broken bone takes 6-8 weeks max to heal. Simple math here.. I broke my foot in August, it should have been fully healed no later than the start of November. Now, 6 months later, it still as yet to fully heal? Something has gone wrong, but no one (on the medical side of the situation) seems to have any sense of urgency on finding out what is wrong and how to fix it! Thus, my family and I have decided to get a second opinion and have an appointment in Atlanta at 9 AM next Friday to see ex-U.S. National Team doctor, Dr. Levengood. Hopefully after Friday I’ll have a good idea at what my athletic future looks like going into the summer.

Well, last weekend a snow storm came through the southern states. I decided to go stay with Sheida on Friday and Saturday because she turned 19 on Friday! Originally I wasn’t going to go to Athens for her birthday weekend, because we had a game scheduled for Sunday, and I didn’t know if we would have practice on the Saturday before, so I just went up to Athens on Valentines Day instead. But, it turned out that we didn’t have practice on that Saturday, which worked out perfectly! I had planned to just stay Friday and Saturday, then drive back early Sunday morning for the game. On Saturday morning we went to get brunch at this cafe in Athens, it was raining when we went inside. When we were leaving though, the rain had turned into wet snow, and piles of sloshy ice had began to accumulate everywhere. Sheida and I went back to her dorm and took a nap. When we woke up it was the middle of the afternoon, probably about an hour and a half after seeing the wet snow. We looked outside and all we saw was white. It was storming snow. I packed my bags up because my parents wanted me to beat the snow storm back to Rock Hill.. but it was too late. The only entrance/exit to the parking lot that I was parked in was blocked by a huge pine tree that fell because of the freezing precipitation. (Picture seen in the previous post). Not only could I not get out of the parking lot, but the roads were completely unnavigable and covered in snow. Sheida’s birthday weekend got extended by an extra day! It couldn’t have worked out more perfect. 7 inches of snow covered Athens on Sunday and Sunday night, leaving a huge playground for us and every student at UGA. I’ve got some pics of our snowman, Oliver, maybe they’ll find the internet soon.

This weekend didn’t feel like a weekend at all.. it definitely lacked leisure time. On Saturday the team had to be at the coliseum at 8:45 as we had a clinic for kids ages 6-12 at nearby South Carolina city, Clover. The clinic lasted until around 1. Almost 200 kids were in attendance. Although it consumed a lot of my Saturday, I’ve got to say, it was awesome being around all the young-ins. Today we had to Spring games against two D2 school. We beat Limestone and tied Francis Marion. Although the results could have gone a lot better, it was a good chance to see the depth of our new roster, as all the seniors on the team from this season are gone now. I’m desperately waiting to see where I can make an impact on the game field for the Eagles. Hopefully soon.

Well if you were wondering, my noodles were great. I cheated and ate them while typing up the post. I’m gonna end it now though, as I told myself I would do some Chemistry problems tonight before I finished my studies.. and I’ve yet to open my Chem book!

Catch you later.

(PS, I usually edit my posts as meticulously as I clip my fingernails.. but time’s crucial right now, so my apologies for any first grade mistakes)
