Hospital Day
I’m chilling here at the hospital in Charlotte. Got here around 9, registered and got my arm band around 9:40ish, then went back and got my injection and phase one and two of my bone scan around 10:30. The final phase of the bone scan is around 1 o’clock this afternoon. I’m not really sure when I’ll know the results of my scan, as my doctor still has to examine them. The radiologist let me see the first two phases of the scan, and it was obvious that there was an area (right where my screw is) on my right foot because of the accumulation of radioactive-tracers centered around that area. Basically, my whole foot was white on the scan, except for the one focussed area of black, right at my fifth metatarsal. I don’t really understand the reason for this test though because the radiologist said that a bone scan is done to identify areas of bone regeneration or stress and that a specific cause of the stress isn’t learned from the scan itself. I guess the scan just “validates” the pain that I’m experiencing? I mean I’m not lying here, my foot hurts! The guy said that other tests, MRIs, etc, are used to determine the specific problem.. interesting.. I guess I’ll just have to keep waiting, like I have been for almost o MONTH and just try to be patient.
Anyways, just wanted to post a quick update from the hospital.. back to calculus homework, see ya.
