A Little Bit of Stress, A Little Bit of Sacrifice
Here’s the thing, I’ve been on my feet for the entire day. When you have one foot that gets rather tired after just ten minutes of walking around, thanks to a lovely little metal screw friend, and have a lot more than just ten minutes of walking implemented into your day, you’re bound to run into some problems with comfort. I just walked up the stairs to the second floor of the library, sat down at a nice table, and thought to myself how great it would feel to just slip my shoes off and prop them up on the chair across from me. Obviously I followed my thoughts, and here I am now. Don’t even ask if it feels good, because I’m not going to hear you. I’m too consumed with the amazing stress release that just occurred starting with my feet and toes, up through my legs, in my stomach, through my arms, then out my head and fingers. I swear to it- shoes give you stress. With shoes, your feet are constrained, without the ability to move around, hours at a time. Being bounded like this affects your whole mood and brings you down. Don’t believe me? Well I dare you, the next time you’ve been wearing shoes and you’re feeling a little stressed or pint-up or just flat out crazy, slip off your shoes and sit back and just let the sensation take over. It’s great.
On a different note… This week has been the busiest of the semester for me thus far. Five tests in one week. I advise you to never try that on your own, it’s not fun at all. More than half of mine are done, as I had three exams on Monday, but can truthfully say that I’m only three-quarters satisfied with one grade that I got back. I hate when I look at a graded test and can point out my stupid errors right on the spot. I guess I just have to practice more in order to be better prepared for next time. But why can’t all classes just be like history? What a great class: just plain, a little complex, but right down to the point.
I’m here at the library tonight preparing for my chemistry and sociology tests for tomorrow. The worst part is that U.S. Men’s national team just kicked off in their World Cup qualifying match vs Mexico, and at 9 LOST is on, as well as the first meeting on the court this year between Duke and UNC. At least I wore my blue Duke shirt today. Hopefully that will make up for not getting to watch the game live. We’ll see if Cameron Crazies hunt me down. I hate missing these things, but thanks to espn360.com I’ll be able to watch replays of both the games, and I can either download LOST on iTunes or watch it on abc.com. Sacrifice isn’t too bad after all!
Anyways, I’ve gotta go. Lot’s of concepts and people to learn tonight. Happy hump-day.
