Last Regular Wednesday of the Semester

Wow, it’s been a while. Being away for Thanksgiving made it pretty hectic here when I got back. Exams, essays and what not for the entire week.. fun stuff. But today is the “last regular Wednesday of the semester” for me, as my girl friend texted me this morning. It’s a nice way of looking at it. Just had my second to last psychology lecture. Sad stuff.. not really. I can’t wait for these next seven and a half days to go by. Being home during Thanksgiving was, well, amazing.

I decided to leave a day earlier last Monday, instead of going to my biology class on Tuesday then leaving Tuesday afternoon. This gave me an extra night of sleep in my own bed, and an entire extra day at home. The break was so great, being home for the first time in four months was awesome. I got to meet Sheida’s extended family as I went with her family to their Thanksgiving dinner, and she got to meet my extended family. Awesome. But I have to warn anyone who tries to have two Thanksgiving meals in one day, it’s a tough feat to accomplish, and you may feel a little full at times, more like all the time, but you just have to push through it. At least it was Thanksgiving food that we had to eat all day, that made it a lot easier. You can never go wrong with some turkey, sweet potatoes, etc. The best kind of foods.

On Saturday, Sheida, my dad, and I went to the Georgia-Georgia Tech game in Athens. Sheida had her own student ticket, and I got our friend Kelsey’s student ticket because she wasn’t going. My dad was planning on buying a ticket off of the street, but was kind of nervous on how well that would go. I have to say, it didn’t work out more perfectly. He got a better ticket than Sheida and I! And only had to pay face value for it. The game was upsetting in the end, but was probably the best college football game in the country to watch last Saturday. 45-42, 87 points! That’s called entertainment right there. Even though UGA lost, it was still a great Saturday. My dad has been telling me to “update your blog, Jacob when are you going to update your blog?” “Don’t forget to update your blog!” Being a UGA fan his entire life, it was awesome that my dad finally got to see his dawgs in action. I’m glad that I was there to see them for the first time with him. And the fact that he got a great ticket so easily and effortlessly has motivated him to go to more games, which is fine with me! Anyways, dad, I updated my blog, and you’re on it! Go dogs.

So after seeing Sheida every single day of the break, and being with my family, and kanine Brother, seeing my grandparents and great-grandmother, and seeing my brothers from high school, I had to go back to the ‘Throp. It wasn’t that hard leaving though, because I know that I only have 12  twelve more days until I get back home- then I’m home for an entire month, that’s going to be awesome.

Meanwhile, things are busy here, hence the lack of posting on the blog until today. I’ve got my last biology exam tomorrow, a little presentation to do in my lab, then it’s time to study for finals. I have two finals next Wednesday, and one on Thursday. Luckily in some of my classes, we are kind of “opting” out of finals exam, and just using our last test as our final. After Thursday morning at eight o’clock, I’m out of here! Heading back to Georgia for a while. I’m probably going to have surgery within the first week or so of being back, so that will give me an excuse to do nothing but sit on the couch and watch some Discovery Channel in HD, and of course some ESPN, can’t wait! Until then, I’ve gotta use my brain to it’s potential, I want that GPA to be sitting nice and pretty when I get back here in the Spring.

Oh and did I mention that I’m thinking about changing my major, again? Ha.. yea. That discussion is for a another blog post.
