Stellarandstoked.com

I’ve decided to make a public domain name for the blog. I’ve had over 1,000 page views since September, 27th.. from 19 cities, and the previous name, “vinylbreak” derived from me breaking my foot earlier this year.. since I’m fully healed now, I didn’t really think that was a fitting name for what I want this blog to be. I feel that “Stellar and Stoked” is a name that better-fits this site. I went through a lot of names like stellarlife.com and imstokedforlife.com but some of them were already registered, and I didn’t like how others rolled off the tongue. I ended with stellar and stoked, which are two terms usually used in the surfing world on the west coast to express intense happiness and excitement. I like this name because this is how I feel about life, and what I write in my blog. I’m “stoked” for my “stellar” life, and I just love writing about my adventures, my ups and downs, and yea… there ya have it.

Now that this business is out of that way… After spending a night in twenty degree Virginia coldness, which ended up with a 3-1 NCAA tournament loss to William and Mary, I’ve gotten sick, again. The good thing is that we don’t have any more practice this semester, so I’ve been able to just rest in bed and watch insane amounts of Discovery Channel, which is always nice. I slept for eleven hours last night, after taking two nyquil tablets. I’m hoping that nyquil and dayquil get me healthy before tomorrow when my Thanksgiving break starts. I leave around noon tomorrow to go HOME! The day has finally come, I get to sleep in my own bed, I cannot wait.

Being here for two days this week is rather pointless. I already went to my one class today… so now I get to sit in my dorm, out of the cold outside, and wait for it to be night so I can go to sleep. It sounds rather depressing, but what else can I do when I’m feeling pretty sick? I have my biology lecture and then biology lab tomorrow, then I get to drive four hours to get home! I do have to pack though.. wow, blogging actually helps me plan out my life. That’s what I’m going to do this afternoon — pack — that way I can just leave immediately after my morning classes tomorrow. Perfect.

Although our season ended on a rather sad note, everyone who is coming back next year seems to be pretty pumped. Winthrop has had three trips to the national tournament in the past seven seasons, and has yet advance to the second round. Next year the team will be even more motivated to do what we’ve never done before, advance in the national tournament. We’ll see how William and Mary does in the second round against the top ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons. I want to go up to Winston-Salem and watch that game tomorrow, but all of the driving doesn’t really seem logical. In other college soccer news, a team that we beat in regular season play, UNC-Greensboro, beat Duke 2-0 in the first round of the national tournament on Friday night.. which makes us look kind of good here back at the ‘Throp.

Have a good Thanksgiving… maybe I’ll catch up with you over the break when I’m back in the ATL.
