So many things to do, so little time. It seems like I have due date after due date, rehab after rehab, it’s never ending. As much as I want the semester to end already, I don’t want to college to pass by so quickly. I want to enjoy my years here, but all of this work causes frustration and my lack of patience can’t handle it. I haven’t found that optimal system yet, one where I can get awesome grades, while having a lot of spare time to do things. The schedule of being an athlete makes this hard, but I see upperclassmen on my team who achieve this. Hopefully, after this semester I can take flaws and learn from them. With 17 hours on my schedule next semester, I’m definitely going to have to change things around and get into a solid “routine.”
Setting my complaints of life aside, everything else is going great. Yesterday at practice, my foot felt the best that it had since I broke it in August. I was able to do my rehab activities outside with cleats with minimal pain or discomfort, which excites me. I’m thinking I’m about three to four weeks away from being completely healed. By that time, the season will be over and the semester will be wrapping up. The month of December will consists of studying and taking finals, then shift towards a soccer-mindset. After finals I plan to start getting back into game shape. My ultimate goal is to come back from Christmas break and on the first day, pass the fitness test that I had to do in preseason. Over my break, my main goal will be to get my cardio back to where it was at the beginning of August. I can’t wait to start training again.
We have a home game tonight against Gardner-Webb. If we win this one, we’ll be 5-1 in the conference, setting ourselves apart from any other team in the Big South Conference. It’s going to be a cold one tonight. After the game, it’s Halloween party time. Apparently Halloween is a pretty big event for the soccer team, everyone gets dressed up in weird costumes.. this should be interesting. Hopefully tomorrow night I’ll get to go to Campground Massacre, which is supposed to be the best haunted house in the Charlotte area.
