Eighteen

Finally, I’m 18. Legal. It doesn’t feel that much different to tell the truth. Everyone else I’ve been around has been 18 for a while, so now I’m just caught up to them. I guess now I can go out and buy lottery tickets, cigarettes, get into clubs, and whatever else comes with being 18. I’m sure I’ll take advantage of every single one of those privileges, not. It’s been a relaxing day though, just lounging around sleeping in my dorm. What more could I ask for? At least I don’t have classes to go to yet.

Last night we started our season against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, SC. The final result doesn’t reflect how the game truly went. The match was pretty even the entire game, until the last 17 seconds. Carolina was given a free kick about 30 yards out near the corner flag. A weird scramble in the box, and they headed one into the back of the net. Very unfortunate for us.. but we did prove that we can play at this level. South Carolina was listed as “teams receiving votes” in the preseason national rankings. Now we can focus our attention to Sunday night when we host Clemson. If we play as well as we did last night, I know we can pull out a good result against the Tigers. Its going to be a good season.
