Surgery

I had my first surgery ever today. Wow, what a surprising breeze that was. I feel stupid for being so nervous, because really, it went so well. Stripped down into the hospital gown, checked my vitals, got an IV and moved into the OR. The anesthesiologist gave me a mask to breathe into. I remember taking about 4 breaths and then I woke up in the recovery room. It was surreal, I had a screw put into my right foot and didn’t feel a thing. After about thirty minutes in the recovery room, I was good to go. I was feeling so good, I asked my mom to stop at Dick’s Sporting Goods so we could get some soccer shorts with pockets (so I can carry everything while walking on crutches).

My foot has become pretty sore however, but that’s completely normal, a freaking screw was just put into it. But this day really has been amazing. I’m on the road to recovery. Three to four weeks of no pressure on the right foot, then another two weeks of walking in an air cast, then the real rehab starts. But I know I’ll be back stronger than ever, I’ve never felt so sure of anything. I just have to remember to take it slow, and not rush into anything.

Meanwhile, we start our season on Monday night at 7, Winthrop @ South Carolina, I’m pretty pumped for my team. I think its going to be a good year for everyone.
