Happy Fifth!
What are your thoughts on these Flanneli?
Thought I’d write a little post really quickly. I had an AWESOME, AWESOME weekend. Went to see Shade on Friday night, ate really delicious Iranian food that her momma made, and then woke up early Saturday morning and ate breakfast and studied at Jittery Joes. We headed towards Sanford stadium around noon for the 3:30 kickoff. Us and 3 of our friends parked at the intramural fields and walked to the stadium. Shade and I left our friends for an hour and a half search for a ticket for me. And let me tell you, these Scalpers are steeeeep! Fortunately, around 3:25, I spotted and old man and his wife holding up an extra ticket near the bridge next to the stadium. I asked him how much he was asking and he said $100. I pleaded with him that I was a die-hard Georgia fan, and would give him $60 dollars. He came back with an offer for $80, but I pleaded more that all I brought with me was $62 dollars! A fellow scalper came by and said, “I’ll give you $63”.. the old man replied, “Do you have $80?” But the scalper refused because of the $62 dollar offer to me. The old man looked at me and said, “You look like a good Georgia fan, I’ll take $62.” YES!!! It was a miracle, literally, a miracle. The lowest price Shade and I found all day was $100. (Sheida is amazing at scalping by the way.. absolutely stunning! She’s got the street smarts, the charm, perfect!)
I was able to get into the student section at the game (thanks to Sheida’s charm when asking the usher) and it was a great time. An unfortunate result, but a classic Georgia football game between the hedges. My second!
The rest of the weekend was beyond awesome. Meandering around Athens, eating more Iranian food, watching Sandlot, and just having a great great time with Shade. It was really awesome being able to spend the weekend with her. Happy one year Shade!
Now I’m sitting in a chair behind a little desk in the library with 4 books on clinical gerontology in front of me. I’ve got a paper due at the end of the week on “A Problem That Affects Older Adults.” Because of my aspirations of becoming a student of medicine, I’ve decided to pick a problem on the medical side of aging.. a clinical problem in which a medical doctor evaluates and treats. I’m pretty psyched to do some research!
Talk to you later!
