Things Are Swell In Virginia
A little weekend update from good ol’ Charlottesville, VA, home of the Cavaliers and Blue Ridge Mountains. I’ve got to say, the past two days have been crazy! Our team (three student athletes, an intern, and Winthrop’s Life Skills and CHAMPS coordinator) headed out around 11 AM on Friday. The five hour drive wasn’t too bad, it was nice to be in a car for such a long time...

Dennis Felton fired as Georgia Bulldogs basketball... →
After six seasons at UGA, Dennis Felton was fired from his head coaching position of the Bulldog men’s basketball team. Last weekend Sheida and I went to his last home game as a coach! Just thought I’d share.

Sitting Is A Form Of Peace These Days
I just sat down, finally. It feels like it has been two days since I’ve sat down in a chair and just taken a coupe of breaths and relaxed. Although, right now I could do with out the “rockingness” of this particular chair that I’ve chosen in the library. It will just have to do though, because there is now way I’m getting up to find another chair at another spot in...

Colorado Rapids' Blog →
My teammate, Winthrop senior defender Henry Kalungi, was selected as the 53rd overall pick in the 2009 MLS Superdraft by the Colorado Rapids. He left for Colorado yesterday to join the team in preseason training camp. I’m eager to follow the Rapid’s official blog to read about the progress of the team as they get closer to the start of the 2009 season in March. I hope Henry makes an...

My Flickr Photostream →
I recently created an account on Flickr to share all the pictures that I’ve been taking with my Sony camera phone these past couple of weeks. Maybe you’ll find interest in it, maybe not. I wonder. Check it out. I also just wrote a lengthy post.. see below..

Back From Athens
I believe last week I left here writing about a possible snow day… well indeed Winthrop did have a snow day, extending our three day weekend into a four day weekend. After I wrote my post last week my roommate and I couldn’t fall asleep, a side effect to the anticipation of waiting for snow. After it had snowed for a good hour and a half, at around two o’clock, people were going...

The Forecast Calls For Snow.. and Dead Cacti
Well the forecast is right on schedule. The wintery mix that was supposed to begin around midnight has definitely begun. A nice solid rain mixed with huge white snow flakes. This is supposed to continue for the next hour or so then cease for two hours. But at around 5 A.M. the real winter storm is supposed to start over Rock Hill and not stop until the afternoon. Supposedly Winthrop had some...

Party Last Night
The title says it all… there was a huge party last night! I bet you’re thinking, he’s in college, sure he goes to parties and does the whole college thing, it’s what he’s supposed to do. Maybe you’re thinking that, or maybe you’re thinking that there is going to be a little twist to this title, a little hidden play on words, something like that.. well the...

Life As I Know It
I just got out of my chemistry lab, which meets once a week on Thursday mornings. It was all that I expected: a lab partner, a tough professor, and required typed lab reports. The past couple of days I’ve been shocked with the amount of work that has been thrown at me. I’ve been complaining (mostly to myself) and feel like it should be easier to get good grades. After some thought and...

Back in Carolina
I’m sitting here at my newly organized desk in my room looking at my new bulletin board that I put up, along with my two prickly plant pals (sweet alliteration, I know) that I repotted for my dorm. I had an early morning, waking up at eight in order to shower, eat and get to calculus by nine. It feels like the same routine as last semester, but better. This time around I know what to expect....

Cacti, Plants With Minimal Responsibility, Yes!
As I was going through a list of things that I needed to do today, in effort to be prepared to head back to the Carolinas on Sunday afternoon, a flash of inspiration hit me. I want a plant, but not just the average plant, something that sticks out and defines my personality. I want to take this plant to school with me and show it off in my dorm. A cactus! My thought process didn’t occur in...

Everything Mobile, Everything Wireless
Well times sure are great. The fact that I’m learning how to update everything “me” online straight from my mobile phone is pretty weird. And may I add, I just bought a new phone last week. After countless hours of frustration with my old Samsung mobile of a year, I decided it was time to upgrade. I really have been wanting a digital camera, so I could post pics of my life up to...
