Waiting
I’m sitting here staring at my computer trying to figure out how I’m going to accomplish all the things that I have to do today and this week. I’m trying to make a plan, because if I don’t, I’m bound for failure. I think I would be just fine if there wasn’t for this one thing that’s holding me back.. a flat tire. Yesterday morning I was leaving for...

Busy.Busy.
I have a lot of things going on right now, papers, projects, rehab, you name it. I guess I should start by announcing the status of my foot. It’s finally bootless. The x-rays on Wednesday showed that the bone is finally healed. There is no sign that I ever had a fracture. The only odd thing about my x-ray is the three inch titanium screw that’s sitting in my fifth metatarsal bone. I...

Fall is Starting to Grow on Me
I’m sitting outside the student center…71 degrees, perfect blue sky, light breeze. It’s such a perfect day. I’ve never really been a fan of Fall. The shorter days, cold weather, and time change have never really won me over. Being here though, right now, makes me love it. I can’t believe I’m waiting for the air to get a little bit chillier in the coming weeks....

Nationally Ranked
The topdrawersoccer.com weekly national poll came out today, and we’re on it. Finally some national attention. We’re number 48. Topdrawersoccer’s poll is a little different than the official NSCAA’s top 25 poll.. Each week topdrawersoccer picks the top 48 teams nationally to make the NCAA tournament. Technically, if this poll meant something, and was at the end of the...

A Good Day to be a Dawg
Another Saturday in Rock Hill watching the Dawgs and another W. What a game ,what a game. I wore my red UGA football t-shirt again today, like every other Saturday.. hopefully I got some more nasty looks from Gamecock fans. Sometimes I really do wish I was a “dawg” myself.. but I was thinking.. being here at Winthrop makes my love for UGA that much more unique. No one else here likes...

Monday night and my friend Job
I went to my first RAMP meeting tonight, Reaching Athletes Moving People, which is an athletes only bible study. It’s from 9-10 in the coliseum on Monday nights.. I didn’t go last week because.. well I forget why. But I really enjoyed tonight. I feel like I really needed this, and now have rearranged my priorities. There were about 12 of us tonight, it was a nice small group....

The Weekend
It was a pleasant weekend. Although we lost today in overtime to Appalachian State (I don’t feel like elaborating… read about it here), I still enjoyed my weekend. My parents came up to Rock Hill on Saturday.. I picked them up from their hotel and we went to a local sports bar to watch the UGA/South Carolina game.. it was odd because I’m always used to watching the Dawgs play...

Game Day
Another week has passed, and once again, it’s game time. We are the hosts of the Wingate Inn Classic this weekend. Gardner-Webb, USC Upstate, and Appalachian state will be paying Winthrop a visit. We play USC Upstate tonight at 7:30 and then App State on Sunday at 2:30. And to top it all off, my rents are coming on Saturday. It should be a fun weekend. Fyi… After three weeks of...

Shrimp Tempura
Mmm shrimp tempura sushi roll. It’s sitting on my desk right now. What a busy-long-productive-awesome-but tiring day it’s been for me. I woke up at 7:30 for weight training with the team at the coliseum. It has my first day since I had been not weight bearing on my foot since school started. That went pretty well. I was able to do almost everything that our strength coach has us...

Just Another Monday
It’s weird to think that this is the end of the third Monday that I’ve been in classes. Time has definitely started to fly by. Everything has become a habit.. the dorm, the work, the soccer, the people. It’s kind of cool how this has happened and how I have adjusted to the college life. I definitely had an advantage being a student-athlete though, I instantly had a...

Win in OT
We beat Elon today 2-1 in overtime. It was a great game. We went up early 1-0 and Elon tied it 1-1 right before half time. The second half was very sloppy.. but we turned it around in overtime. We’re 3-1 on the season now.. I’m expecting that we crack the Division 1 South Atlantic Regional rankings this week when they come out on Tuesday. I would be surprised though if we showed up on...

Relax
It’s been a nice relaxing day here at the Throp. Woke up around 11.. did rehab for my foot at 2 and had practice at 3.. then watched UGA crush Central Michigan in football. It was nice. Tonight my roommate and I decided to make our own lofts out of the bed frames they gave us here.. so we got some supplies at Home Depot and will finish constructing them tomorrow after our game. We play Elon...

Topped the Spartans
GREENSBORO, NC - I’m sitting here in my car in the parking lot next to the UNCG Soccer stadium watching all of my teammates get onto the team bus across the street. What a crazy night.. Since I’m a medical redshirt.. I’m not really suppossed to travel with the team on their away games. They were playing at UNCG tonight.. and I really, desperately wanted to see this game. Even...

2 (Working) Legs
I had an x-ray taken of my foot today. Finally, more progression.. I’m allowed to walk! Only in my boot, but hey, walking is walking. Winthrop’s orthopedic surgeon decided to take my recovery more aggressively since there is a screw in my bone holding it together. I wasn’t supposed to be off crutches until another week. I’m so relieved now. I’m going to miss the...

Graphic Design
I just finished my first project for my visual communications class, aka, the studio fundamentals of graphic design. I dropped my 8 a.m. business class to pick this one up. I haven’t even set foot in the classroom yet, I will at 6 tonight. The professor emailed me the instructions for the project that the class was doing last week, and wanted me to have it ready by class time today. So...
